Hi,
I'm a tech pubs manager for Synopsys in Mt. View, CA. I'm considering finding a contract senior writer to rewrite some of our USB semiconductor IP core databooks.
Mandatory requirements include proficiency with the USB protocol and a good understanding of EDA and chip design, as well as a strong track record for creating source content from specs, working with the tools, and producing well-written documentation. You must also be proficient in FrameMaker and able to produce graphics in Visio and FrameMaker.
Send your resume to me at:
soreco@synopsys.com
You must have all of the above qualifications to apply, so please respond only if you do. We may be looking for someone with PCI experience in the future.
Feel free to pass this on only to writers with the stated qualifications.
Best,
Rene

Re: ISO Experienced USB Writer
Wed, August 4, 2004 - 5:50 PMI'm very qualified however I work at Synopsys too. . . Hillsboro.
For anyone that's interested. . . EDA is a good environment to work as a writer but you'd better come prepared. EDA involves working in a software environment that is heavily concerned with hardware. The combination makes writing for EDA one of the most technically demanding. . . subject matter background is a real advantage and is usually a requirement for work beyond simple editing and formating. -

Sat, August 14, 2004 - 1:07 PMFor the record, this individual "Bobo" is using my photo and some of my personality traits for a lame-ass alt. Have a nice day, asshat. Say "bye bye" to your credibility! -

Sat, August 14, 2004 - 3:01 PMUgh.
Not only that, I'm sure Bobo (aptly named) is not a Synopsys employee. For one thing, the Hillsboro writers (like most or all of the Synopsys tech writers) are senior writers. There is no way a 22-year old would be a seasoned EDA writer, nor does she/he sound like anyone I know there. The writing about the field is too simplistic and there is some irony in their use one "t" in "formatting."
Francesca, how creepy and intrusive for you (and the rest of us). There must be some type of control at Tribe where you could report this. Hopefully they would throw out anyone who would do this. -

Sat, August 14, 2004 - 3:08 PMHe/She has already been reported. The worst part is that this "Bobo" joined conservative political tribes and spouted right-wing drivel using my image...
Return to your regularly scheduled programming...

Re: ISO Experienced USB Writer
Mon, August 30, 2004 - 6:00 PMI hope it is appropriate to post this here, but I have been trying to get a discussion group started for tech writers in EDA and Semiconductor sectors at:
finance.groups.yahoo.com/group...riter/
There are 20 memberrs so far, but not much traffic.
Maybe we should move to Tribe.Net?
Sabahat.
